Five Ways to Avoid Who's Rampant E.coli bacteria.


E.coli bacteria outbreak in Europe certainly helped make other countries feel worried, especially with imported vegetable products. In Europe alone, this bacteria has caused 30 people died.

However, do not trigger panic. Here are five steps that can be done to reduce the risk of infection with E. coli, according to Ruth Frechman, a nutritionist in Los Angeles as well as spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, quoted from Shine.com spserti:

1. wash hands

Hand washing is the most important thing to do, especially after using the bathroom and touching animals and before preparing food. Rinsing hands with water also helps to reduce bacteria.

2. Cook the meat carefully

Beef should be cooked to a temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit (use a thermometer to be sure!). "The heat will kill bacteria," says Frechman. "Cooking green vegetables for 15 seconds at a temperature of 160 degrees will also kill E. coli."

3. Avoid high-risk foods

Avoid unpasteurized (raw) such as milk or cheese or juice. Stay away from all human and animal feces.

4. Do not swallow the water

When in a swimming pool, river, or pond in the backyard, do not swallow the water! Some types of E. coli cause disease by producing something called Shiga toxin. Infection begins when you ingest something that is invisible Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. This can happen when you swallow a number of human or animal feces in your mouth.

Clean all cutting boards and kitchen appliances such as refrigerator shelves. Wash hands after touching raw meat. Differentiate the cutting board to cut fruit / vegetables and raw meat, like chicken, fish, or meat.
